Where Strength Meets Recovery
Josée’s routine brings together the intensity of weight training and the restorative benefits of yoga. She views the two practices as natural complements, with yoga playing an important role in her mobility, flexibility, and recovery from previous injuries.
“Yoga is a personal practice to me, and I love to practice outdoors in my backyard or at the cottage,” she shares. The peaceful setting gives her space to reconnect with herself while helping her body recover from the physical demands of training.
Strength training remains central to her weekly routine. Josée trains her lower body three times a week and completes two upper-body sessions, with hip thrusts, Romanian deadlifts, and dumbbell squats among her preferred exercises. She also practices Pilates occasionally, although weightlifting continues to be the form of training she finds most effective.
Recognition Built Through Hard Work
Consistency Without Perfection
Josée believes sustainable fitness begins with finding genuine enjoyment in the process. Rather than chasing perfection, she focuses on setting achievable goals, acknowledging smaller victories, and remembering how exercise makes her feel.
“Consistency comes from enjoyment, not perfection,” she explains. “There will be days that motivation is low, but building healthy habits and keeping your ‘why’ at the forefront will help you stay on track.”
For Josée, fitness is ultimately about personal growth, mental strength, and discovering new capabilities. The physical results matter, but the lasting health benefits and confidence developed through consistent effort make the journey worthwhile.
